Backend Engineer, IAM

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology platform seeking a Backend Engineer to join their Identity and Access Management team. This is a remote-friendly role open to candidates anywhere in the world.

Our client operates mission-critical systems that handle authentication and authorization for millions of daily users. You'll work on highly performant, highly scalable infrastructure that powers one of the internet's most visited platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship backend services for consumer IAM systems at massive scale
• Develop and maintain identity, authentication, and authorization infrastructure
• Work with product management, security, and engineering teams to define and implement IAM vision and roadmap
• Select, scope, and execute high-leverage projects that align with organizational goals
• Create more performant, scalable, and higher quality architecture around IAM
• Collaborate across cross-functional teams throughout the engineering organization

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience designing and developing distributed backend systems
• IAM backend experience in either authorization or authentication domain
• Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages (Go preferred)
• Strong capability with essential cloud infrastructure including Kubernetes, CI/CD, AWS, and GCP
• High empathy and excellent communication skills for cross-organizational collaboration
• Commitment to continuous learning and improvement of both technical and non-technical abilities
