Data Engineer GCP Mexico

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology organization seeking a Data Engineer with deep Google Cloud Platform expertise. This is a full-time position based in Mexico, and our talent team is working directly with the hiring manager to identify exceptional candidates who can architect and maintain cloud-based data infrastructure at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy data pipelines in GCP to ingest data from databases, APIs, and streaming platforms
• Manage and optimize database systems including BigQuery, SQL, and NoSQL solutions to ensure performance and reliability
• Implement orchestration and scheduling workflows using Airflow and other modern tools
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes to integrate data from multiple sources and transform it for analytical use
• Apply data modeling techniques, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning for efficient data processing
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders across distributed teams
• Lead technical discussions with stakeholders to identify opportunities for data infrastructure improvements
• Utilize modern data transformation tools and maintain version control through Git and project management platforms

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• At least 4 years of experience as a Data Engineer working with GCP cloud-based infrastructure and systems
• Deep knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and cloud computing services
• Extensive experience designing and deploying cloud data pipelines
• Proficiency in BigQuery (required), SQL, and NoSQL database management
• Strong programming skills in SQL, Python, and scripting languages
• Hands-on experience with Airflow for orchestration and scheduling
• Knowledge of modern data transformation tools such as DBT or Dataform
• Experience with data integration, ETL, and ELT techniques
• Excellent communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Experience working in multinational environments with distributed teams
• Familiarity with Git, Jira, Confluence, and similar tools
• Openness to learning new technologies and solutions

Preferred qualifications:

• Certifications in big data technologies or cloud platforms
• Experience with BI solutions such as Looker, Power BI, or Tableau
• Familiarity with ETL tools like Talend or Alteryx
• Experience with Apache Spark in GCP environments
• Databricks experience
• Azure cloud infrastructure knowledge
