Responsibilities

We are representing a profitable global connectivity platform that is building a local Enterprise Sales Pod in Paris. This team pairs one Account Executive with one Forward Deployed Engineer to architect and deploy production systems for enterprise clients across France and the Nordic region.

As the Forward Deployed Engineer, you will embed directly with enterprise customers to build real solutions at scale. You will own the technical side of the sales cycle—from discovery and architecture through POC delivery and production go-live. This is not a demo role. You will ship production code that enterprise customers depend on.

Your day-to-day work includes:

  • Embedding with enterprise customers to understand their communications workflows, AI use cases, and integration challenges
  • Building and deploying custom implementations using voice, messaging, fax, wireless APIs, WebRTC, and AI voice assistants
  • Running open-weight LLMs in customer environments through hosted inference APIs or self-hosted stacks when air-gapped or sovereign-cloud requirements demand it
  • Deploying and operating LLM gateways in customer environments to provide unified OpenAI-compatible interfaces across models, with routing, load balancing, retries, rate limits, and per-team virtual keys
  • Instrumenting and governing LLM usage through cost tracking, caching, logging, observability, and guardrails
  • Wiring production observability for everything you ship—metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and alerting using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Graylog, or ELK
  • Designing model routing strategies for real-time voice workloads, balancing latency, cost, and quality
  • Making build-vs-buy recommendations between self-hosted open-weight models and hosted frontier APIs
  • Adapting models to customer domains with prompt and RAG pipelines for French, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, and Finnish language use cases and EU regulatory environments
  • Leading POCs, pilots, and production launches from whiteboard to go-live
  • Owning customer outcomes and staying engaged until solutions are live and stable
  • Collaborating with Product and Engineering to shape the roadmap based on field insights from France and the Nordics
  • Creating clear technical documentation, runbooks, and maintainable solutions for handoff
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex integration issues alongside customer teams

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

  • CS degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years building and shipping production software—you have written code that real users depended on, been on-call for it, and debugged it when things broke
  • Proficiency in multiple languages: Python, Node.js/TypeScript, Go
  • Practical understanding of what breaks in front of a model in production: provider rate limits, timeout and retry behavior, streaming, token accounting, and concurrency failure modes
  • Experience deploying containerized services on Kubernetes with secrets management, config, and upgrades
  • You have wired observability and been paged because of it—experience with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Graylog, ELK, or equivalent
  • High-concurrency experience with Kafka, message queues, or event streams at real scale
  • You have built APIs from scratch—OpenAPI spec, REST/GraphQL design, auth, rate limiting, versioning, idempotency
  • Event-driven thinking and cloud-native instincts
  • Exposure to SIP, WebRTC, or real-time voice/messaging systems
  • Self-sufficient by default—you read the code and docs, ask the customer, and make sound engineering judgment calls on your own
  • Customer-facing engineering experience—you can run discovery with customer engineers and present to executives in the same week
  • Ability to translate "it's not working" into root cause
  • Comfortable working on customer sites and in high-stakes technical conversations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English and French
  • Based in Paris or willing to relocate—this is a hybrid role with travel across France and the Nordics
  • Legally authorized to work in France or eligible for sponsorship

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with AI voice assistants, STT/TTS, or LLM-based conversational systems
  • Building eval sets for specific domains
  • Hands-on production experience with an LLM gateway including config-driven model definitions, routing and fallback rules, and virtual key management
  • Familiarity with the open-weight model landscape and trade-offs between regional and multilingual models, including EU sovereign AI initiatives
  • Experience with inference serving engines and sizing GPU capacity for self-hosted models
  • SQL proficiency
  • ETL and data wrangling experience
  • CI/CD pipeline design and automation
  • Background in telecom, communications platforms, or high-growth SaaS
  • Experience with sovereign or on-prem cloud deployments and EU regulatory frameworks (GDPR, EU AI Act, French data sovereignty, Nordic data protection laws)
  • Security mindset (IAM, encryption, audit logging)
