Senior Software Engineer, Core Experiences – Lyon, France

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology client in Lyon, France, seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Core Experiences Team. This team builds and maintains foundational services and SDKs that power product experiences across platforms. This is a critical role for an engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of product and infrastructure, thinks strategically, and is passionate about designing clear, reliable APIs and simple systems that directly enhance user experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, navigate integration and UX tradeoffs, and deliver solutions via cross-platform SDK
• Optimize existing functionality to improve performance including faster loading and more intelligent parsing by designing efficient abstractions and improving algorithms
• Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin
• Design and maintain foundational services that power product experiences across multiple platforms
• Work on end-to-end system design with a focus on simplicity and reliability

• Technical expertise: Strong experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable but role requires Kotlin Multiplatform)
• Preferred: Prior experience with GCP is a plus
• Senior-level software engineering experience with a track record of building reliable systems
