About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential digital health organization based in Munich. Our client is building solutions that bring clinical-grade rehabilitation into patients' homes through computer vision and real-time feedback. This is a remote senior backend engineering role where you will own the technical bridge between neural network outputs and patient-facing features that directly support therapy outcomes.

Our talent team is seeking a senior Python engineer who can work across computer vision pipelines and production backend systems, shipping features that physiotherapists and patients depend on daily.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the computer-vision pipeline that translates pose-estimation neural network outputs into repetition counts, posture feedback, and exercise analysis
  • Design and build the reporting layer that transforms raw movement data into actionable clinical reports for healthcare professionals
  • Develop and extend production backend services using Python, FastAPI, MongoDB, and Redis to power both patient and clinician platforms
  • Deploy and maintain services on Kubernetes with GPU inference capabilities, ensuring production reliability through testing, monitoring, and thorough handovers
  • Collaborate with product, clinical staff, and mobile engineers to analyze requirements and propose technical solutions independently

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 5+ years of professional Python development experience, including production REST API work with FastAPI or equivalent frameworks
  • Hands-on experience building product features on top of deep learning model outputs using PyTorch or TensorFlow—beyond notebook experimentation
  • Solid production experience with NoSQL databases, ideally MongoDB, and designing data models that scale
  • Fluent Git and GitHub workflow including branching, code reviews, and CI/CD
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to take ambiguous problems and drive them to shipped solutions independently in a remote environment
  • Professional working proficiency in English; German is a plus
  • Genuine interest in early-stage environments where you own outcomes and see direct impact

Preferred:

  • Experience with pose estimation, human motion analysis, or video processing using OpenCV, MediaPipe, or similar libraries
  • Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud deployment experience; familiarity with workflow orchestration tools
  • Background working in regulated environments such as medical devices, health data compliance, or GDPR
