Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition – Paris, France

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI technology organization seeking a Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition based in Paris, France. Our client operates in a fully distributed environment and is building cutting-edge AI products used by millions of people globally.

This role sits within the Data side of the AI team and focuses on large-scale data collection operations that support model training. You'll be working at petabyte-scale, integrating infrastructure, engineering, and research to build high-quality datasets efficiently and cost-effectively.

Responsibilities

• Identify and integrate new sources of audio data into the ingestion pipeline
• Operate and extend cloud infrastructure for data ingestion, working with GCP and Terraform
• Collaborate with research scientists to optimize the cost, throughput, and quality of data collection at scale
• Partner with AI team leadership to develop dataset roadmaps that power next-generation products
• Build and maintain large-scale data processing workflows
• Balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment

What We're Looking For

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field
• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong proficiency with bash and Python scripting in Linux environments
• Professional experience with Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (GCP preferred)
• Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is a plus
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and handle multiple concurrent tasks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
