About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential AWS consulting organization with offices across Europe. They are seeking a Senior Cloud Consultant specializing in Data & AI Engineering to join their growing practice in Hamburg. This is a unique opportunity to work on a 4-day workweek model while leading end-to-end cloud data and AI projects for enterprise clients.

You'll architect and deliver scalable data platforms and generative AI solutions, working directly with clients as a trusted technical advisor. This role combines deep technical work with strategic consulting, mentoring junior team members, and helping shape the future of their Data & AI practice.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable AWS architectures for data platforms and generative AI/agentic AI solutions, ensuring security, performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
• Lead architecture decisions, documenting trade-offs and rationale to enable team collaboration and future development
• Translate business challenges into measurable technical requirements and clear objectives
• Develop generative AI and agentic AI solutions using AWS Bedrock, implementing agent frameworks and orchestration patterns
• Build multi-step agent architectures with tool integration, human-in-the-loop approval workflows, and automated review processes
• Establish evaluation frameworks and quality assurance processes for LLM and agent-based systems
• Support pre-sales activities, technical workshops, and scoping of client engagements
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value propositions for stakeholders
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal standards, best practices, and training programs
• Guide clients on pragmatic and responsible implementation of generative and agentic AI

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in cloud, data, software, or ML engineering, including 2+ years owning end-to-end architectures
• Strong hands-on expertise with AWS cloud services
• Solid foundation in data engineering and ETL architecture design
• Practical experience delivering generative AI or agentic AI projects
• Advanced Python programming skills
• Professional fluency in both German and English

Preferred qualifications:

• AWS certifications (supported and funded by our client)
• Background in pre-sales, technical leadership, or consulting environments
• Experience with AWS Connect
• Infrastructure as Code expertise (Terraform or similar)
• LLM customization, fine-tuning, or distillation experience
• MLOps experience including model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management
• Kafka or streaming technology background
