Product Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential legal technology company that is transforming how real estate transactions are processed. Our client has built an AI-powered platform trusted by thousands of legal and real estate professionals across major firms. Following a recent $60m Series B funding round, they're expanding their engineering team to scale their flagship products—including an innovative AI agent that automates real estate due diligence and document processing.

As a Product Engineer, you'll join a small, dynamic team building the future of legal AI. You'll own end-to-end feature development for their web application, working directly with frontier large language models and shaping product direction alongside cross-functional colleagues including AI engineers, product managers, and legal domain experts.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop key features of the web application and supporting services from discovery through deployment and continuous improvement
• Take ownership of critical technology decisions and frontend architecture to optimize for scale, speed, and quality
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ideate, prototype, and ship features that solve real customer problems
• Integrate and optimize large language models (including GPT-5, o3, and other frontier models) for production use cases
• Champion code quality, reusability, and best practices across the product codebase
• Participate in architecture and code reviews to improve maintainability, security, and scalability
• Work closely with business stakeholders to ensure features deliver measurable impact on key metrics
• Ship frequently to gather customer feedback and iterate rapidly based on user needs

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Strong background in frontend development with React, TypeScript, and/or Next.js
• Proven track record building user-facing products with deep customer empathy
• Experience delivering large, complex software engineering systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Passion for solving technically challenging problems and shipping early and often
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments with high ownership and autonomy

Nice to have:

• Backend development experience, particularly with Python
• Hands-on experience working with LLMs and OpenAI's API
• Product engineering experience or wearing a product hat in previous roles
• Experience with modern development practices including BDD, TDD, 12 Factor, and CI/CD
• Background in startup or high-growth environments

Location: London | Flexible working hours and location
