About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI technology company transforming how legal professionals handle complex property transactions. Our client is a well-funded, high-growth organization working at the intersection of artificial intelligence and real estate law, serving major firms and institutions across the UK and US.

As a Staff Product Engineer, you'll build production systems that leverage AI to accelerate legal work and remove manual processes from property transactions. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll own features end-to-end, direct small engineering teams, and shape the technical foundations during a critical growth phase.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of key product features from concept through production deployment, setting technical direction and architecture
  • Own projects end-to-end, guiding teams of 2-4 engineers to deliver reliable, scalable systems
  • Direct AI coding agents to generate, iterate, and refine production-quality software
  • Work with a modern stack including TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, and Python, reviewing and shaping AI-generated code
  • Rapidly prototype and ship customer-facing features, often within days rather than months
  • Continuously improve engineering practices by adopting AI-assisted development workflows
  • Collaborate across product, design, and technical boundaries to solve complex challenges

What We're Looking For

  • Deep conviction that AI will reshape industries and genuine desire to build at that frontier
  • Evidence of reaching excellence in a professional, academic, or personal domain
  • Generalist mindset with willingness to work across multiple disciplines
  • Experience building modern agentic systems or reasoning through complex ML products
  • Track record working on high-growth products generating significant ARR
  • Demonstrated rapid career progression (e.g., junior to senior level in under five years)
  • Ability to critique AI-generated output with high standards and strong technical judgment
  • Comfort with ambiguity, intensity, and high performance standards

What's Offered: Competitive salary plus equity in a Series B-funded startup, hybrid working (1-2 days per week in Farringdon office), 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, personal development budget, team lunches, flexible working hours, and cycle-to-work scheme.

Location: London, hybrid working arrangement
