High Net Worth Fundraising Manager

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential international development organization at an exciting inflection point. Our client has grown 3x over the past four years and is building the infrastructure to scale dramatically over the next decade. They're now creating a dedicated High Net Worth fundraising function from the ground up—and they need a builder to lead it.

This is not a polished, turnkey role. This is an opportunity for someone who thrives in ambiguity, loves creating systems where none exist, and understands that transformational philanthropy requires both strategic rigor and genuine relationship building. Over the next 18–24 months, you will establish the foundations for a world-class HNW fundraising operation that can scale alongside the organization's ambitious growth trajectory.

Responsibilities

Network Mapping and Donor Prospecting (20%)

• Build a pipeline of high net worth prospects from scratch, identifying individuals, family offices, donor-advised fund advisors, and giving networks
• Develop systems for prospect qualification, tracking, and relationship management
• Create a dynamic view of pipeline status and pathways to move relationships forward
• Conduct deep research and connect dots others miss to build scalable prospecting infrastructure

Relationship Management Infrastructure (20%)

• Implement and oversee CRM processes, tools, and engagement frameworks for high-standard relationship management
• Develop bespoke 1:1 engagement plans for top prospects
• Create scalable stewardship approaches for broader HNW audiences
• Establish gold-standard practices that can grow with the function

HNW Fundraising Materials & Positioning (20%)

• Build compelling collateral including narratives, tailored pitch decks, funding menus, and bespoke briefings
• Synthesize complex programmatic information into clear, credible stories
• Maintain exceptionally high standards for all external-facing materials

Events and Cultivation (20%)

• Design and coordinate intimate, high-value cultivation events in key geographies (West Coast US, New York, London)
• Deepen existing relationships and open new doors by leveraging senior networks
• Increase organizational visibility at important external events in the HNW and philanthropy space

Market Intelligence and Audience Insights (20%)

• Monitor the HNW philanthropic landscape including publications, podcasts, social channels, and communities
• Synthesize insights about how high-capacity donors think about giving and impact
• Feed intelligence to communications teams to ensure strategic positioning

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone early in a high-performance career who is ready for genuine ownership. What matters most is the quality of your thinking, execution, and drive.

Required:

• Clear evidence of high performance in demanding environments (consulting, fast-growth startups, nonprofits, or similar)
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly for high-stakes external materials
• Ability to turn complex ideas into compelling narratives and hold yourself to an unusually high bar
• Strong organizational skills with a bias for execution
• Ability to manage competing priorities without losing momentum and work independently to deadlines
• Some exposure to high-value external relationships, strategic initiatives, or fundraising
• Understanding of the care and rigor required to build relationships that move significant capital
• Curiosity and intelligence to quickly learn about international development, funder landscapes, and HNW philanthropy
• Deep commitment to youth development and social impact missions
• Willingness to make a minimum two-year commitment

Preferred Location: UK or East Africa, with support for flexible, distributed working arrangements
