Tax Manager, Direct Tax & Strategic Projects

We are representing a confidential health technology client in their search for a Tax Manager, Direct Tax & Strategic Projects. This is an exceptional opportunity for a tax professional who wants to move beyond pure compliance and take ownership of high-impact direct tax matters, special projects, and business partnership in a fast-growing organization.

Working closely with senior tax leadership in a lean, collaborative environment, you'll support day-to-day direct tax operations while helping the business navigate new structures, product launches, and market expansion decisions. This role offers broad in-house experience and the chance to strengthen the tax function as the company scales globally.

Responsibilities

• Support high-impact tax projects tied to business growth, new structures, market expansion, and other strategic initiatives
• Partner closely with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, external tax advisors, and other finance stakeholders to provide practical, business-oriented tax support
• Evaluate and implement tax considerations related to international expansion and evolving business needs
• Drive process improvements that strengthen how the tax function supports the business and scales with company growth
• Take ownership of priority direct tax workstreams while balancing longer-term strategic and operational projects
• Build strong cross-functional relationships and help the tax team respond quickly and thoughtfully to complex, high-priority matters

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of corporate tax experience, ideally including a mix of public accounting and in-house exposure
• Strong direct tax knowledge, including federal and state corporate income tax compliance and provision work
• Familiarity with international tax concepts and the tax implications of operating across multiple jurisdictions
• Experience supporting strategic tax matters, process improvements, or special projects beyond standard compliance work
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain tax issues clearly to cross-functional partners
• Self-starter mindset with the ability to manage priorities independently in a lean, fast-moving environment
