Senior PHP Engineer with strong DB experience

We are representing a confidential cybersecurity organization in their search for a Senior PHP Engineer with strong database expertise. This is a fully remote position based in Cyprus, offering the opportunity to work on a sophisticated risk management platform serving complex enterprise clients.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications using modern PHP and related technologies
• Design and optimize complex SQL queries for handling large-scale data processing
• Maintain and deploy applications on Linux platforms within cloud environments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across different time zones to deliver high-quality solutions
• Perform technical troubleshooting and resolve performance bottlenecks
• Follow Agile/Scrum methodologies throughout the development lifecycle
• Contribute to architectural decisions for scalability and security

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Minimum 5 years of professional PHP development experience
• Excellent knowledge of database systems and optimization techniques
• Extensive experience working with large volumes of data
• Proven ability to write complex, optimized SQL queries
• Strong expertise in modern versions of PHP
• Experience with relational databases (SingleStore/MemSQL is a bonus)
• Background maintaining applications on Linux platforms in cloud environments
• Professional experience following Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Demonstrated technical troubleshooting capabilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with distributed teams

Preferred:

• Experience with vulnerability scanning technologies or security tooling
• Cloud environment experience, ideally AWS
• Background in data analytics or data science
