About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential aerospace organization based in Munich, Germany. They are developing next-generation space transportation systems and need a skilled Flight Software Engineer to join their mission-critical software development team. This role offers the opportunity to work on flight control systems that will operate in space.
We are considering applications at all seniority levels for this position.
Responsibilities
- Own requirements for specific spacecraft subsystems
- Implement flight software modules for critical subsystems
- Write clean, maintainable unit tests for all software components
- Collaborate with avionics, propulsion, and guidance/navigation teams
- Contribute to high-fidelity spacecraft simulation systems
- Conduct and support integrated testing activities
What We're Looking For
Required Skills:
- Strong proficiency in C++ (C++14 and above)
- Experience with C and Embedded C programming
- Strong Python development skills
- Familiarity with debuggers such as GDB and LLDB
- Solid understanding of mathematics and physics
- Strong focus on code quality, detail, and comprehensive testing
- Experience with CI/CD systems and build tools
Preferred Experience:
- Knowledge of safety-critical and real-time critical software development
- Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS)
- Understanding of communication protocols including TCP/IP, UART, CAN Bus, and serialization
- Experience with automotive or flight software frameworks
- Familiarity with industry standards such as AUTOSAR, ECSS, or DO-178
