About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential life sciences organization in Munich that is advancing innovative reagent technologies for diagnostic and pharmaceutical applications. Our talent team is seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist or Scientist with expertise in nucleotide chemistry and organic synthesis to join their research laboratory.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Munich, Germany. The role requires very good German language skills and good English proficiency for international project collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute complex organic syntheses of nucleotides, nucleosides, nucleic acids, and their precursors for test development and early-stage supply
  • Characterize synthesized products using analytical techniques including NMR, HPLC, and mass spectrometry
  • Apply preparative chemistry expertise to develop high-quality reagents and chemical intermediates
  • Document experimental procedures and results comprehensively; present findings to project teams
  • Collaborate within international, cross-site research teams ensuring reliable communication
  • Conduct laboratory work in compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards
  • Support general departmental operations including maintenance of laboratory equipment

What We're Looking For

  • Education: PhD in organic chemistry or closely related field
  • Experience: Substantial hands-on experience in preparative chemistry (work during Master's and doctoral studies will be considered)
  • Synthetic expertise: Proven ability to design and execute syntheses of high-quality chemical compounds with precision and creativity
  • Nucleotide chemistry: Knowledge of organic synthesis of nucleosides, nucleotides, nucleic acids, or their precursors is advantageous
  • Analytical skills: Experience with NMR, HPLC, and MS required; familiarity with MPLC or LC-MS preferred
  • Work style: Independent, reliable, quality-focused approach with strong teamwork capabilities
  • Languages: Very good German and good English required
