Director of Sales

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential B2B manufacturing client in their search for a Director of Sales based in Berlin. This is a senior commercial leadership role with a founder-led organization that has achieved strong market traction across central and northern Europe since 2014.

Our client serves premium brands in retail, hospitality, technology, and luxury sectors. They have developed systematic processes and technology infrastructure that set them apart in a traditionally fragmented industry. With offices across three European cities and a clear growth trajectory, they are building the senior team to drive the next phase of expansion.

This role reports directly to leadership and will architect the commercial engine for the organization—owning the full sales cycle, CRM transformation, team development, and customer retention strategy.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the inbound sales team, outbound function, aftersales operations, and offline conversion efforts
• Own sales team targets, forecasting, and performance metrics with structured planning and disciplined execution
• Drive customer satisfaction and retention strategies for key brand clients
• Oversee CRM systems and optimize the end-to-end customer journey
• Develop market intelligence and customer insights to inform product development, pricing strategy, and go-to-market decisions
• Manage senior client relationships and lead dispute resolution when required
• Implement AI-native tools and workflow automation across the sales function

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of sales experience with demonstrated leadership or team mentoring responsibility
• Strong ownership mindset—you take accountability for outcomes and results, not just activities
• Proven ability to manage, develop, and hold teams accountable to performance standards
• Solid understanding of CRM systems, pipeline management, and data-driven sales operations
• Genuine enthusiasm for AI-enabled tools and sales automation—you don't need to have built everything before, but you must be excited to implement and optimize
• Native-level German proficiency (non-negotiable)
• Professional English fluency
• Based in Berlin or willing to relocate—this is an on-site position
