As a Mortgage Loan Officer with Zillow, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to borrowers throughout their mortgage journey. You'll review applications for accuracy and completeness, explain available loan options tailored to each client's financial situation, and shepherd files through underwriting to approval. This remote position requires you to balance client relationship building with meticulous attention to regulatory requirements and documentation standards across a growing loan portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and evaluate mortgage applications for residential property purchases and refinances
• Counsel borrowers on available loan programs, interest rates, and terms based on their financial profile
• Request and verify financial documentation, employment history, and credit information
• Ensure all loan files meet underwriting guidelines and regulatory compliance requirements
• Collaborate with underwriters, processors, and closing teams to move applications toward approval
• Maintain regular contact with borrowers to update them on application status and resolve questions
• Monitor loan timelines and identify and address potential roadblocks to on-time closing

What You Bring

• Active mortgage loan originator (MLO) license for West Virginia, or the ability to obtain one
• Proven experience in mortgage lending, loan origination, or related financial services
• Deep knowledge of mortgage products, underwriting standards, and federal and state lending regulations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex financial matters to diverse clients
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple clients simultaneously, and meet consistent deadlines
