Vertexeducation is hiring a full-time School SPED Paraprofessional to join our team across 2 locations. In this role, you'll provide direct support to special education students, helping them succeed academically and socially while working collaboratively with teachers and school staff.

About the Role

As a School SPED Paraprofessional, you'll be the backbone of our special education program. You'll work alongside special education teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs), deliver instructional support in classroom and small-group settings, and foster an inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive. Your dedication will directly impact students' academic progress, confidence, and overall school experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and small-group instruction to students with special needs, following teacher-developed lesson plans and IEP objectives
  • Support classroom management by monitoring student behavior, reinforcing positive conduct, and addressing behavioral needs appropriately
  • Assist with academic skill-building across reading, math, and other core subjects tailored to individual student needs
  • Help students develop independence and life skills necessary for classroom success and daily functioning
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and communicate observations to teachers and administrators
  • Support transitions between activities and locations throughout the school day
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and other staff to ensure consistent support across all school settings

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Ability to obtain relevant certifications or para-educator credentials as required by your state or district
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse learners
  • Patience, flexibility, and a genuine commitment to supporting students with disabilities
  • Physical ability to move around the classroom and provide hands-on support as needed
  • Reliable attendance and professional demeanor
