Risk Program Specialist

Velera is seeking a Risk Program Specialist to join our remote team across the United States. This full-time position offers the opportunity to drive our risk management initiatives and help strengthen our organization's risk governance and controls framework.

Role Overview

As a Risk Program Specialist, you'll take ownership of key aspects of our risk management program. This position involves identifying emerging risks, assessing their potential business impact, and developing strategies to address them. You'll work collaboratively across departments to ensure our risk management approaches are effective, well-documented, and aligned with industry best practices. This role is fundamental to how we protect our business and enable informed decision-making at every organizational level.

Your Responsibilities

• Identify, assess, and document risks across operational, financial, and strategic areas of the business
• Develop and maintain risk management policies, procedures, and supporting documentation
• Coordinate with department and team leaders to understand their risk exposure and control environment
• Monitor the status and effectiveness of risk mitigation activities and report findings to leadership
• Support compliance efforts with applicable regulations and internal control requirements
• Prepare risk assessments, management reports, and key metrics for stakeholder review
• Contribute to continuous improvement and evolution of our risk management program
