About This Opportunity
We are representing a rapidly scaling hospitality technology company serving properties across 150+ countries. Our client is seeking a Business Development Representative (BDR) to join their remote Sales Development team in Canada. This role combines traditional outbound prospecting with an emphasis on data accuracy and modern AI-powered sales tools.
As a BDR, you'll be the front line for identifying independent hotels, boutique properties, and hospitality groups who can benefit from our client's platform. You'll generate qualified pipeline for Account Executives while maintaining clean account hierarchies and property data in Salesforce.
Responsibilities
- Research, identify, and prioritize target properties and hospitality groups within assigned territories or market segments
- Execute high-quality outbound prospecting across phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels to generate qualified pipeline
- Qualify inbound leads and marketing-generated demand using established qualification frameworks
- Book qualified demos and meetings for Account Executives with complete prospect context and smooth handoffs
- Develop strong product knowledge and tailor messaging to each prospect's property type, business needs, and pain points
- Build and manage territory plans with clear prioritization and disciplined outreach cadence
- Consistently meet or exceed activity, qualified-meeting, and pipeline-generation targets
- Accurately maintain property, contact, ownership, management, brand, chain, and group information in Salesforce
- Document relationships between individual properties and parent brands, chains, ownership groups, or management companies
- Flag duplicate, outdated, or incomplete records and follow data-governance processes
- Support prospecting campaigns connected to trade shows, webinars, regional events, and marketing programs
- Execute targeted pre-event outreach and timely post-event follow-up with proper segmentation
- Explore AI-assisted prospecting, enrichment, messaging, and call-intelligence tools to improve outreach quality
What We're Looking For
Required qualifications:
- 2+ years of B2B sales or sales development experience
- Strong interest in developing a career in sales and progressing into a closing role
- Confidence conducting cold outreach and handling initial prospect objections
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to personalize messaging beyond generic scripts
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage high-volume pipeline and competing priorities
- Disciplined, detail-oriented approach to CRM management and account-data accuracy
- Self-starter mentality with ability to build and execute plans without heavy oversight
- Motivation to perform against clear activity and pipeline goals
- Familiarity with Salesforce and Salesloft or comparable sales-engagement platform
- Curiosity about AI tools and how they can improve prospecting, research, and sales effectiveness
Bonus qualifications that stand out:
- Experience selling into or working within the hospitality or lodging industry
- Familiarity with property-management systems or hospitality technology
- Experience working with parent-child account hierarchies or complex account structures in a CRM
- Experience with Clay, Apollo, or other AI-powered enrichment and prospecting tools
- Experience supporting event-based prospecting, field-marketing campaigns, or structured lead-nurture programs
- Multilingual capabilities
