Senior Accounting Manager (w/m/d) – Multi-Entity & Process Build-up

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential compliance software organization in München that is scaling rapidly and building out its finance function. They need an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to take ownership of multi-entity accounting operations and lead the internalization of processes currently handled externally.

This is a hands-on role combining technical accounting expertise with process design. You'll manage day-to-day financial accounting across multiple legal entities while simultaneously building scalable systems that support growth and acquisitions. Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day financial accounting for multiple legal entities, including evaluating non-standard transactions and preparing monthly financial statements and VAT returns independently
• Prepare year-end financial statements for multiple entities in close collaboration with the Head of Finance and external tax advisors
• Reconcile intercompany transactions and support consolidation processes
• Lead the internalization project: transition external accounting services in-house, design the future accounting system architecture (DATEV or MS Business Central/Navision), and actively participate in implementation
• Support post-merger integration activities for newly acquired entities, including standardizing chart of accounts, reporting structures, and processes
• Build and standardize scalable accounting processes and systems designed to support ongoing growth and future acquisitions

What We're Looking For

• Professional qualification as Finanzbuchhalter/in, Bilanzbuchhalter/in IHK, experienced Steuerfachangestellte/r, or degree in accounting/finance with relevant practical experience
• Several years of hands-on experience in financial accounting, including monthly closings, VAT returns, and supporting year-end processes—ideally in a multi-entity environment
• Strong technical judgment: ability to independently assess business transactions and evaluate commercial and tax implications
• Proficiency with DATEV or MS Business Central (Navision) in multi-entity settings; strong Excel skills
• Self-directed, detail-oriented, and highly organized working style
• Fluent German and good English language skills
• Preferred: experience with independent responsibility for year-end closings and tax filings; payroll processing; transitioning accounting from external tax firms; familiarity with Salesforce, JustOn, or Moss
