Senior Machine Learning Engineer – Video AI

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential medical technology organization based in München that is developing advanced surgical analytics platforms. We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer with deep expertise in video AI to join their growing engineering team.

In this role, you will architect and deploy machine learning solutions that process surgical video and sensor data, extracting actionable insights that improve operating room workflows. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to build production-grade services that enable safer, more efficient surgical procedures through intelligent automation and assistance tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement learning-based solutions for medical video analysis tasks including event detection, image segmentation, and object detection
• Own the complete machine learning development lifecycle from requirements gathering and data processing through experimentation, model training, and production deployment
• Advance the capabilities of intelligent video analysis components by leveraging growing datasets and cutting-edge ML techniques
• Drive the productization of AI-powered video solutions for medical applications
• Contribute innovative ideas and work independently to deliver solutions that impact medical professionals worldwide

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Computer Science, natural sciences, or related technical field
• 3+ years of professional experience applying modern machine learning methods and classical computer vision techniques to challenging image processing problems
• Hands-on experience with state-of-the-art ML tooling including experiment management platforms, containerization, orchestration frameworks, processing pipelines, and data version control systems
• Strong software development skills in Python and/or other programming languages with demonstrated experience building complex production systems
• Experience gained through diverse industrial projects or PhD research in a relevant domain
• Knowledge of cloud computing environments (AWS preferred) is a plus
• Prior work on AI-based products in the medical technology sector is advantageous
