Senior Developer (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential digital commerce consultancy seeking a Senior Developer to join their Frankfurt-based team. In this role, you will build and ship modern, high-performance e-commerce applications, taking features from concept through to production deployment.

You will serve as a technical implementation partner to clients, evaluating options, explaining complex architectural decisions clearly, and developing sustainable solutions collaboratively. Working closely with consulting and requirements engineering teams, you will translate business requirements and goals into clear technical concepts, structured backlogs, and actionable solutions.

Your responsibilities include:

• Designing scalable e-commerce architectures, integrations, and technical roadmaps spanning frontend, apps, APIs, middleware, and connected systems
• Taking technical ownership of major features and workstreams, making critical decisions and driving initiatives to completion alongside the team
• Challenging existing solutions, providing feedback in code and architecture reviews, and advancing engineering practices
• Mentoring less experienced engineers through coaching, knowledge sharing, and technical guidance
• Managing customer relationships professionally and presenting technical trade-offs and solutions clearly

What We're Looking For

Our client requires a developer with 4+ years of professional experience in projects involving complex application, integration, and service architectures—ideally within consulting or agency environments. Required qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript with hands-on experience in React, Next.js, or comparable technologies
• Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
• Proven ability to work with high levels of autonomy in agile environments while actively contributing knowledge to the team
• Experience understanding customer requirements within integrated technical solutions and readiness to assume responsibility beyond coding for technical design, quality, and successful delivery
• Capability to translate functional requirements into technical concepts and structured, actionable work packages
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent German and good English language skills
• Professional confidence in client-facing situations with ability to prepare and present decision frameworks around trade-offs
