About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential Product and technology consulting firm in Paris that is helping enterprise clients transform how they build software with AI-native approaches. They have moved beyond proof-of-concept work and are now addressing real architectural challenges: how coding agents integrate into existing systems, what capabilities should be centralized in platforms, and how teams can work effectively with AI in the development loop.

As Tech Lead, you will guide clients through these transformations, make critical architecture decisions, and build the capabilities they need to succeed. You will design solutions, provide strategic counsel, and write code when decisions need to be tested against reality.

Responsibilities

• Understand client product, business, and technology context, including existing systems and delivery environments
• Identify how AI changes their landscape and what technical capabilities are missing
• Design architectures and arbitrate structural choices: build versus buy, platform versus team autonomy, immediate needs versus durable capabilities
• Prototype or implement components when architectural decisions need validation through code
• Coach client teams and elevate the technical capabilities of internal consultants
• Participate in pre-sales as technical authority, challenge requirements, and help clients transform ambiguous problems into actionable decisions
• Work across the technology stack: software architecture, distributed systems, APIs, data, cloud infrastructure, security, IAM, CI/CD, developer platforms, and observability

What We're Looking For

Broad Technical Culture: You are fundamentally a strong technologist who understands modern software systems well enough to reason about entire architectures. You can identify what is structurally important, understand interactions between layers, and go deep when problems require it. Typically 10+ years of experience, having seen architectures evolve, hit limits, and sometimes fail.

Deep AI Expertise: You understand systems built with LLMs and agents—what they enable and where they struggle. Context engineering, retrieval, tool use, agentic systems, evaluations, security, and observability are familiar territory. You can reason about the architectural properties these systems introduce and their implications for broader infrastructure.

Judgment and Hands-On Skills: You think in trade-offs, take positions, and explain why one option is preferable in a given context without confusing architecture with technology accumulation. You remain hands-on enough to open code, work with APIs, explore infrastructure, or build prototypes when that becomes the fastest path to clarity.

Product and Client Orientation: You seek to understand the problem, users, organizational constraints, and expected outcomes before designing solutions. You can challenge clients, present multiple options with their trade-offs, and help them decide.

Valued Experience: Consulting background, Product and Engineering transformations, developer platforms, or AI systems in production. If you write, contribute to open source, or speak at conferences, that is a genuine advantage.

Language: Fluency in French required for client interaction in Paris.
