Go (Golang) Software Engineer, Developer Tooling and Containers

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential open-source technology organization in the APAC region. They are building a new developer experience tool that reimagines workflows for modern Linux environments, containers, and cloud resources. This is a greenfield project aimed at eliminating tedious environment setup for developers working across robotics, MLOps, IoT, and other domains.

We're seeking a Go (Golang) Software Engineer with deep expertise in developer tooling and containers to join a distributed team building tools that software engineers will love. This role is remote within APAC time zones, with travel twice yearly for team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design user experiences for new developer tool capabilities
• Write high-quality Go code to create features that integrate with modern IDEs and SDKs
• Ensure correctness and robustness across diverse use cases
• Implement solutions with careful attention to performance, quality, and security
• Collaborate with internal and external engineering teams
• Contribute to architectural decisions through peer review and technical discussion

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Professional software development experience in Go, Python, C, or C++
• Strong understanding of Linux system-level fundamentals (cgroups, namespaces)
• For senior-level roles: deep knowledge of containers and underlying kernel semantics
• Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or equivalent experience
• Professional written and spoken English with strong presentation skills
• Ability to travel internationally twice per year for up to two weeks
• Intellectually honest approach to decision-making and code review

Desirable:

• Experience with LXC/LXD
• Background in AI/ML, CUDA, or OpenVINO
• Knowledge of system and language package manager internals
• Experience designing developer tools or CLI applications

Pay

Compensation details will be discussed with qualified candidates based on experience and location within the APAC region. The client considers geographical location, experience, and performance when determining total compensation, which includes base pay plus performance-driven bonuses.
