About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential SaaS organization that is transforming how frontline and deskless workers connect with their employers' digital ecosystems. Our client serves major enterprise customers across Europe, deploying their platform to hundreds of thousands of users who need seamless access to company systems and information.
As a Senior Customer Engineer, you will own the technical bridge between product and enterprise IT. You will take greenfield implementations from architecture design through to stable production rollouts at scale, working inside complex legacy environments with identity systems, HR platforms, security frameworks, and emerging AI integrations. This role combines deep technical ownership with customer-facing authority—you make the technical decisions, enable customer IT teams and partners to execute, and build first versions yourself when that is the fastest path forward.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical side of enterprise onboardings end-to-end, from initial architecture discussions through live rollout and stabilization
- Design and deliver enterprise integrations including identity and authentication (OIDC, OAuth, Entra ID), user provisioning (SCIM), and REST API connections into HR and operational systems
- Enable customer IT teams, system integrators, and external development partners to implement solutions you have designed and would sign off on
- Build working prototypes and first-version integrations where necessary to prove approaches or unblock rollouts, then hand over with complete documentation
- Lead technical implementation of AI capabilities including agents, MCP-based tool access, and agent-to-agent scenarios within enterprise boundaries
- Serve as technical authority in customer accounts, working directly with project management, IT, security, functional departments, and works councils
- Feed gaps and learnings back into product and engineering teams based on real deployment experience
- Travel regularly to customer sites, approximately 10 to 30 percent of your time
What We're Looking For
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Around 3 to 5+ years in IT or tech consulting, customer engineering, forward deployed engineering, solutions engineering, or SaaS implementation with genuine enterprise exposure
- Hands-on experience with enterprise integration and identity: SSO and authentication (OIDC, OAuth, Entra ID or comparable), REST APIs, and API-based integrations delivered inside real enterprise IT environments
- Demonstrated customer-facing technical responsibility in enterprise projects where you made technical decisions alongside IT, security, and functional stakeholders
- Genuine technical depth—you read code, review designs, debug integrations, and build working prototypes without being a full-time production developer
- German at C1 level or above and fluent English
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Provisioning experience (SCIM) and integrations into HR or workforce systems such as SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, or UKG
- Current, informed view on agentic AI developments: MCP, A2A, EMA, and underlying authentication challenges—we value someone who follows the field closely and has formed opinions
- Prior work as a Customer Engineer or Forward Deployed Engineer at a product company rather than only in traditional consulting
- Experience with workflow automation tooling (n8n or similar), comfort with logs and dashboards, or familiarity with German co-determination and enterprise data protection frameworks
