Project Manager (Software Development) – Remote, Latin America

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential software consultancy serving clients across North and South America. Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their growing delivery organization and lead complex software development initiatives for enterprise customers.

This is a fully remote role based in Brazil, requiring availability to overlap with US business hours. You will be responsible for managing multiple concurrent software projects with strict external deadlines, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring successful delivery against fixed commitments.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end delivery of software development projects with immovable external deadlines (product launches, regulatory milestones, client events)
• Maintain and actively manage client dependency registers, tracking required-by dates, owners, and escalation paths
• Oversee formal risk registers and change-control processes throughout project lifecycles
• Coordinate scope, budget, resourcing, and timelines across multiple concurrent workstreams
• Manage third-party vendor dependencies including contracts, credentials, and integration timelines
• Lead Agile/Scrum or Kanban teams, facilitating ceremonies and removing blockers
• Define milestone and gate-based acceptance criteria and deliver executive-level status reporting
• Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and client executives
• Identify, track, and proactively mitigate project risks and cross-team dependencies
• Utilize project management tools (Jira, Asana, or similar) to maintain visibility and accountability

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 5+ years professional experience managing software development projects
• Proven track record delivering against fixed, critical external deadlines with critical-path management
• Experience managing client dependency registers with escalation protocols
• Hands-on experience with formal risk registers and change-control processes
• Demonstrated ability managing project scope, budget, and timelines across concurrent initiatives
• Experience coordinating third-party vendor relationships and integration dependencies
• Strong background running Agile/Scrum or Kanban delivery teams
• Experience with milestone-based acceptance criteria and client-facing reporting
• Proficiency with modern project management platforms (Jira, Asana, or equivalent)
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with ability to communicate technical topics to business audiences
• Substantial experience working with large-scale systems and distributed engineering teams
• Ability to overlap US business hours
• Bachelor's degree required
• Extreme ownership mindset and accountability for commitments
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability

Preferred:

• PMP, CSM, or PSM certification
• Experience on projects with regulatory or compliance requirements
• Background with nearshore US-LATAM distributed teams
