Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential fintech organization in their search for an experienced Engineering Manager based in Poland. This role combines technical leadership with delivery excellence, managing cross-functional engineering teams to build scalable backend systems.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end delivery and execution across cross-functional teams, ensuring predictable and high-quality outcomes
• Evaluate business and product requirements for technical feasibility and architectural alignment, translating them into well-defined EPICs and technical user stories
• Partner closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Engineers to continuously refine, groom, and prioritize the backlog
• Plan and drive sprint execution with clearly defined goals, establishing timelines, delivery milestones, and surfacing dependencies early
• Champion engineering processes and rituals that enable strong collaboration, accountability, and team efficiency
• Monitor team velocity and capacity to optimize resource allocation, proactively balancing bandwidth against delivery commitments
• Coordinate cross-team dependencies and stakeholder alignment to remove bottlenecks and maintain smooth execution
• Guide design decisions, enforce sound design patterns, and participate in code reviews to maintain high engineering quality
• Ensure robust monitoring, alerting, and observability for all owned services, consistently meeting defined SLIs and SLOs
• Define, track, and publish post-release product metrics, driving transparency and continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
• 8-10 years of experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or in a similar hands-on technical role
• 5+ years of strong experience building production systems using Java and Spring Boot
• Minimum 3 years of proven engineering leadership experience managing high-performing teams
• Solid grasp of Agile methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and iterative delivery
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex product requirements into well-structured EPICs, user stories, and tasks
• Strong backend engineering expertise; exposure to frontend technologies is a plus
• Experience with project planning and tracking tools to visualize and manage delivery timelines
• Familiarity with engineering and product health metrics and monitoring tools to drive data-informed decisions
• Hands-on capability to debug complex production issues, lead incident response, and conduct blameless root cause analysis
• Good understanding of modern deployment practices, including CI/CD pipelines and release management
• Ability to drive alignment across cross-functional stakeholders, both technical and non-technical
• Excellent risk management, dependency tracking, and stakeholder communication skills
• Proven track record of improving team velocity, delivery predictability, and engineering excellence
• Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and adaptability in fast-paced environments
