About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Infrastructure to join their London team. Our client is at the forefront of cloud-native banking technology, and this role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated infrastructure tooling that supports mission-critical financial systems.

As an Infrastructure Software Engineer, you'll be instrumental in deploying and maintaining cutting-edge software, developing automation tools, and building integrations with third-party infrastructure components. Your work will span from creating mechanisms that automate deployment processes to facilitating infrastructure changes in data and streaming platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Support the engineering team in building reliable, scalable applications that serve banking environments
  • Design and build tools to make services scalable and highly available, with a focus on automation
  • Develop observability and orchestration tooling to enable monitoring and management of deployments
  • Contribute to disaster recovery, backup, and redundancy tooling and strategy
  • Improve codebase quality by building new tools and processes

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar technical field
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure engineering
  • Production-ready infrastructure management tooling experience with either Python or Golang
  • Familiarity with at least one of the following areas:
    • Observability Tools (e.g. Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana)
    • Databases (e.g. Postgres, DuckDB)
    • Event Streaming platforms (e.g. Kafka)
    • Container Orchestration (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience with CI/CD systems (e.g. Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab, GitHub Actions)

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting production systems in high-consistency transactional environments
