Staff Software Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS client in their search for a Staff Software Engineer to join their Paris office. Our client is a fast-growing technology company building customer communication solutions used globally. This is a high-impact technical leadership role where you'll drive architecture decisions, mentor engineering teams, and lead strategic initiatives across multiple domains.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, cross-functional projects autonomously from concept through delivery, starting from high-level problem statements
• Define and communicate technical vision across multiple engineering teams, ensuring alignment and knowledge sharing
• Serve as a technical mentor and go-to expert for engineers across the organization
• Understand multiple product domains deeply, proactively identifying improvements and advocating for customer needs
• Define technical strategies for complex, high-impact challenges
• Establish and enforce quality standards, driving adoption of best practices in architecture, security, and DevOps
• Write production-ready code and participate actively in software design discussions
• Demonstrate strong understanding of system infrastructure, performance optimization, and security-first principles

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of back-end development experience using TypeScript and Node.js, Python, Ruby/Rails, or similar languages
• Proven ability to lead and define technical strategies with strong system design expertise
• Track record of leading complex projects that span multiple teams and domains from ideation to completion
• Expert at identifying opportunities for impactful new initiatives
• Deep understanding of multiple product domains with ability to anticipate long-term technical needs
• Experience delivering solutions with focus on security, scalability, availability, and performance
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across different roles and profiles
• Strong willingness to learn new technologies and adapt quickly

Technical environment includes: TypeScript/Node.js, Python, REST API/GraphQL, Ruby/Rails, React, AWS/Serverless, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, OpenSearch, Redis. You don't need experience with all of these, but should be eager to learn.
