About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential healthcare communications agency seeking an experienced Design Team Leader to join their creative team in Köln. This is a leadership role where you'll take creative ownership of 360° campaigns while developing and guiding a talented design team. You'll work alongside an interdisciplinary group including project management, copywriting, strategy, and medical specialists to deliver compelling work for healthcare clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the design team, managing resources and ensuring consistently high creative quality across all outputs
• Take creative responsibility for healthcare campaigns, brand identities, and complex layouts spanning print, digital, and experiential touchpoints
• Collaborate closely with agency leadership to develop the unit strategically and drive new business initiatives
• Oversee projects including brochures, trade show communications, digital designs, and AI-enhanced campaigns
• Provide strategic creative counsel to clients, participating actively in pitches and new business development
• Champion new technologies and AI tools to optimize workflows and continuously evolve design processes
• Foster team member growth through mentorship and skill development

What We're Looking For

• Several years of experience in communications or agency design, with a strong portfolio spanning print, digital, and brand development
• Proven track record leading creative teams and developing team members
• Strategic design thinking with the ability to advise clients confidently at a senior level
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma
• Hands-on experience with node-based tools such as Krea, Weavy, or Midjourney
• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI and generative design technologies to enhance creative processes
• Strong understanding of healthcare communications (preferred)
• German language proficiency required for this Köln-based role
