Senior Buchhalter IFRS & HGB (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a growing technology organization in Hamburg that requires a Senior Accountant to independently manage accounting operations for multiple software entities. In this role, you will:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under both HGB and IFRS standards for two to three entities
• Oversee day-to-day financial accounting activities including general ledger, fixed assets, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and account reconciliations
• Handle specialized accounting for software licenses, SaaS business models, project-based revenue, and maintenance and support contracts
• Prepare VAT returns and support with annual tax filings, including cross-border transactions
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations within an international group structure
• Participate actively in the implementation of Odoo ERP and contribute to process automation and system integration initiatives
• Serve as the primary liaison with auditors, tax advisors, banks, and tax authorities, while collaborating closely with finance leadership and portfolio company teams

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Commercial education or degree with focus on accounting, finance, or taxation (Bilanzbuchhalter IHK certification is advantageous but not mandatory)
• 5 to 10 years of relevant professional experience in accounting or financial reporting
• Strong knowledge of both HGB and IFRS accounting standards
• Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills
• Fluent German and good English language skills
• High degree of independence, precision, and hands-on mentality with a proven ability to take ownership and develop structures
• Team-oriented approach with motivation for professional development

Preferred experience:

• Background in software, IT, or technology companies
• Experience managing accounting for multiple entities or business units simultaneously
• Knowledge of Austrian UGB accounting standards
• Audit or advisory experience, such as from Big Four environments
