Product Design Manager

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential fintech organization operating across multiple markets in Africa, Asia, and Europe. We are seeking a Product Design Manager – Design Systems who can architect and maintain scalable UI ecosystems across web and mobile platforms. This is a fully remote role open to candidates in India, Nigeria, or the United Kingdom.

In this position, you will own the foundational design infrastructure that enables product teams to ship faster while maintaining exceptional quality. You'll bridge design and engineering, ensuring visual assets translate into clean, reusable, and accessible code across React, Flutter, Android, and iOS environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain exceptional standards for layout, typography, color, spacing, and visual hierarchy across all reusable design elements
• Design, build, and maintain robust component libraries (buttons, inputs, cards, navigation, forms, tables) that scale seamlessly across products
• Define interactive behaviors and state transitions (hover, focus, disabled, loading, mobile behaviors) to ensure components feel intuitive
• Structure and maintain design tokens (colors, spacing, typography, border-radius, shadows) to drive consistency between design tools and production code
• Organize complex Figma variants, properties, and components to empower product designers to build quickly and accurately
• Partner closely with engineering teams to navigate technical constraints across web and native app environments
• Create comprehensive usage guidelines and documentation outlining when, why, and how components should be used

What We're Looking For

Required Experience:

• Extensive experience building, scaling, and maintaining production-ready design systems (not just standalone product features)
• Deep understanding of constraints and guidelines governing Web, iOS, and Android platforms
• Portfolio demonstrating systems-thinking: how individual design decisions impact multiple products and optimize designer/engineer workflows
• Strong familiarity with how developers inspect, build, and consume components in code repositories

Essential Skills:

• Expert Figma proficiency: advanced knowledge of libraries, auto-layout, components, variants, variables, and library publication
• Solid grasp of accessibility standards (WCAG), contrast requirements, and inclusive design principles
• Familiarity with component-driven frameworks (React, Flutter) and Atomic Design methodology
• Excellent writing and presentation skills with ability to translate complex design system choices into clear technical guidelines and executive updates
