Safety Loss Control Consultant

About This Role

Our talent team is representing a confidential insurance brokerage organization in their search for a Safety Loss Control Consultant. This national position focuses on providing risk management, loss prevention, and safety services to help clients identify and mitigate safety-related hazards, with particular emphasis on workers' compensation, general liability, and automobile losses.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive safety assessments at client facilities across manufacturing, hospitals, universities, real estate, retail, and process industries
• Recommend, implement, and improve safety and loss control programs based on loss history, regulations, organizational needs, and industry best practices
• Collaborate with claims teams and analytics groups to review large losses, analyze trends, and develop service plans to mitigate future losses
• Manage relationships between insurance company loss control departments and clients by coordinating visits and service plans
• Review and prioritize insurers' recommendations, developing creative, cost-effective alternative solutions
• Prepare detailed COPE reports including analysis of exposures and loss control recommendations
• Write blogs, white papers, and informative summaries on modern technologies and regulation changes
• Develop and present webinars, training courses, and seminars on safety-related topics
• Support account teams with new business opportunities and renewals
• Provide consultation on property protection, review project plans, and offer design criteria guidance based on NFPA and FM Global Standards
• Prepare clients for upcoming insurer property inspections

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 7+ years of experience in the insurance industry
• Professional Engineer or Certified Fire Protection Specialist Designation desired but not required
• Expertise in property loss control and experience performing property field surveys on industrial occupancies
• Strong analytical skills and experience conducting loss control consultations
• Highly Protected Risk (HPR) experience highly desirable; FM Global engineering background is ideal
• Proficiency in Automatic Sprinkler System Hydraulic Calculations and Fire Protection Water Supply Analysis
• Working knowledge of construction projects and builder risk
• Familiarity with NFPA and FM Global standards with ability to apply them appropriately
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations for general industry, loss control best practices, and workers compensation programs
• Understanding of DOT, NFPA, and ANSI standards
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong organizational abilities
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and make decisions with and without established guidelines
• CSP and/or safety-related designation preferred
• ARM and/or insurance-related designation preferred
• Willingness to travel 30-50% nationally

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $150,000 - $175,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and location.
