Co-Founder / CTO

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential PropTech startup in the building assessment and energy efficiency space. Our client's founders have deep industry experience and have already secured partnerships with major property management firms and municipal authorities in central Germany. They are now seeking a technical co-founder to build the data infrastructure that will power their platform.

As Co-Founder / CTO, you will own the technical architecture from day one—designing data models, choosing the technology stack, and building automated processing pipelines for complex sensor data including LiDAR point clouds, thermal imaging, 360° photography, and drone footage. You'll start as a hands-on engineer and grow into a CTO role leading your own team as the company scales.

Responsibilities

• Own the entire technical architecture, including data models, infrastructure design, and technology stack decisions
• Integrate multiple data sources (LiDAR point clouds, thermal imagery, 360° captures, aerial photography) into a unified data model
• Build automated pipelines that transform raw sensor data into actionable building assessment insights
• Develop analytics and key performance indicators that help clients prioritize renovation investments
• Scale from prototype to production system serving validated enterprise and municipal clients

What We're Looking For

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or comparable field (recently completed or in progress), or equivalent professional experience
• Backend engineering experience, ideally with data-intensive applications
• Strong passion for data architecture and pipeline design; experience with point cloud or geospatial data is a significant plus
• Business-fluent German required—you'll be working directly with regional municipal and property management partners
• Entrepreneurial mindset with interest in equity ownership and building from the ground up

Compensation

This is an equity-based co-founder role with equal partnership in the founding team. The founders are pursuing German government startup stipends (EXIST or comparable programs) that provide €1,000–€3,000 per month during the initial development phase. The company also has access to federal R&D funding programs.

Location: Halle (Saale), Germany with remote flexibility
