Aero Software Developer

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential motorsport organization seeking an experienced Aero Software Developer to join their high-performance engineering team in Bicester, United Kingdom.

In this role, you will:

• Collaborate with engineers and data scientists to develop and improve software for efficient aerodynamic analysis
• Design and implement desktop and web applications to present data from multiple sources, with particular focus on CFD data
• Contribute to redesign and optimization of backend systems used to process and serve CFD data
• Design and implement efficient workflows for CFD post-processing
• Work closely with aerodynamic engineers to improve understanding of complex datasets
• Define future directions and trends in data analysis and visualization
• Develop high-performance, well-designed data access tools and APIs for integration with existing systems
• Design, code, test, release, and maintain data analysis applications
• Stay current with the latest advancements in software design and data science
• Optimize user interface presentation and interaction across a wide range of engineering data sources

What We're Looking For

Our client requires candidates with:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
• Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience
• Experience with data organization and repository creation using appropriate database and file technologies
• Proven track record working on complex projects
• Demonstrated programming skills with strong knowledge of Python and JavaScript
• Familiarity with Linux environments
• Experience with software release, update, and deployment techniques
• Strong knowledge of PyQt technology and deployment to Windows/Linux operating systems
• Strong knowledge of web technologies (Django experience is advantageous)
• Familiarity with VTK, ParaView, and/or PyVista
• Knowledge of containerized development and deployment
• Fluent English communication skills

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with scientific data visualization, especially 3D data
• Knowledge of containerized deployment on Kubernetes
• Familiarity with HPC environments
• Understanding of data science techniques and methodologies
