About This Opportunity
Our client is a high-growth digital media and performance marketing company with a remote-first team across multiple countries. We are representing them in their search for an Events Manager to own their external conference and trade show program.
This is a strategic operations role supporting revenue teams who attend roughly 26 conferences annually, with peak activity between August and October. You will take a currently manual process and build it into a scalable, repeatable system that drives measurable business outcomes.
You will work directly with senior leadership, including the Chief Revenue Officer, managing the full event lifecycle: calendar strategy, logistics coordination, budget reconciliation, vendor negotiations, materials preparation, and post-event follow-up. This is about execution excellence in service of a commercial team, not large brand activations.
Responsibilities
- Own the annual trade show and conference calendar end-to-end, including recommendations on which events to attend and why
- Manage all event logistics: registration, passes, sponsorships, booth space, speaking opportunities, and critical deadlines
- Coordinate attendee lists, travel arrangements, and meeting schedules to ensure sellers arrive prepared with full calendars
- Project-manage creation and delivery of sales collateral, one-pagers, swag, and materials with internal design and logistics partners
- Attend approximately five key shows per year to run on-site logistics for exhibits, hosted dinners, and executive meetings
- Track and manage the event budget, including month-end reconciliation with Finance and proactive flagging of overruns
- Lead implementation of modern travel and expense management platforms to streamline processes
- Design and execute small-scale partner activations such as dinners and relationship-building events
- Ensure post-event follow-up systems are in place to capture leads and advance partnership discussions
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 3+ years running events, trade shows, or field programs supporting sales, partnerships, or business development teams
- Direct experience owning conferences or trade shows end-to-end, including vendor negotiation, sponsorship contracts, and budget accountability
- Proven ability to drive outcomes by proactively following up with stakeholders and getting answers without needing permission
- Strong comfort working remotely with distributed, fast-moving teams
- Excellent written communication skills for asynchronous collaboration
- Genuine curiosity about AI tools and willingness to use technology to increase efficiency
Preferred:
- Background in performance marketing, affiliate, adtech, fintech, or digital media industries
- Hands-on experience with travel, expense, or event platforms such as Ramp, Brex, Navan, TripActions, Cvent, or Concur
- Experience helping select or implement expense management or event technology systems
- Existing relationships with conference organizers in relevant industry verticals
Success Milestones:
- 90 days: Next three shows fully handled; leadership no longer tracking event deadlines
- 6 months: Following year's calendar built and budgeted; clean expense reconciliation established
- 12 months: Program runs systematically; you are proposing strategic partner activations, not just executing tasks
This role is not ideal if you:
- Prefer designing large experiential brand campaigns over targeted commercial events
- Need detailed direction rather than identifying what needs attention independently
- Seek near-term people management opportunities (this is an individual contributor role)
- Want to inherit established processes rather than build systems from the ground up
