About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential fintech organization in their search for a Site Reliability Engineer based in the EMEA region. Our client operates critical infrastructure that powers digital financial services at global scale. This role requires availability during standard EMEA working hours and offers the opportunity to work on high-impact reliability and infrastructure challenges.
Responsibilities
- Take an active role as co-owner of production services to ensure they are built, maintained, and operated in a reliable and scalable way
- Be part of the successful delivery of new features and services, as well as the day-to-day operations of existing services
- Collaborate with Software Engineering to identify and help drive operational improvements through metric-driven collection and analysis
- Develop and maintain performance benchmarks for applications to ensure a consistent customer experience
- Help drive operational efficiencies releasing code and monitoring performance
- Provide traditional SRE/Operational support including tooling and automation, monitoring, workflow management, and maintaining and improving CI/CD
- Participate in weekly on-call rotation to investigate and resolve potential system issues
- Manage and scale various infrastructure systems
What We're Looking For
- Extensive experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting infrastructure in AWS
- Experience managing the full lifecycle of deploying containers to production using self-managed Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS
- Proven ability to build custom tooling when needed and share knowledge with team members
- Strong understanding of CI/CD and experience building custom tooling to deploy code to production environments
- Ability to solve problems in distributed Linux systems and trace requests across applications, systems, and networks
- Proficiency in automating routine tasks using at least two programming languages
- Fantastic communication skills in both spoken and written forms to explain complex ideas to various audiences
- Ability to thrive in collaborative environments while also solving problems independently
- Must be based in the Netherlands or United Kingdom
Projects you might work on:
- Creating and maintaining application performance benchmarks to identify performance issues
- Improving CI/CD pipeline to reduce deployment time from development merge to production
- Scaling AWS and application infrastructure
- Optimizing local development workflows in collaboration with software development teams
- Identifying common issues and implementing solutions to reduce their impact
- Implementing scalable solutions for blue/green and canary deployments
