Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential renewable energy organization based in Berlin. This role centers on building and maintaining the Rust-based controller that governs power plant operations—solar, battery storage, and thermal generation assets. You will:
- Design and maintain control algorithms within a Rust codebase
- Translate control theory and grid compliance requirements into clean, well-tested code
- Collaborate on control algorithms for power distribution, anomaly detection, error handling, and economic optimization
- Validate controller behavior against real-world plant conditions
- Build software interfaces to communicate with plant hardware via industrial protocols such as Modbus, CAN, and M-Bus
- Support commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of deployed controllers
What We're Looking For
Must-Have Skills:
- Experience in Rust, or strong proficiency in another systems language (C/C++)
- Comfort with concurrent, real-time programming close to the hardware layer
- Knowledge of or genuine curiosity about control systems or power systems
- Clear, proactive communication skills
Nice to Have:
- Experience with industrial protocols (Modbus, CAN, M-Bus)
- Background in power systems, solar, battery energy storage, or similar domains
