Contract Golang Software Engineer (Remote Europe)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential software consultancy working with clients across Europe to deliver high-impact engineering solutions. They need a Contract Golang Software Engineer to join a client team building innovative backend systems. This is a 6-month contract with potential for extension, fully remote within the EU (GMT timezone preferred).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services and APIs using Go as the primary language
• Design and implement scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems
• Work within cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) to deploy and optimize services
• Apply modern deployment practices including Docker, containers, and Kubernetes
• Implement comprehensive testing strategies across the system lifecycle, including TDD and performance optimization
• Use AI tools thoughtfully to augment your work and increase engineering impact
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and business stakeholders

What We're Looking For

• Strong backend engineering experience with Go as a primary or strongly preferred language
• Proven experience building and maintaining APIs, backend services, and SaaS platforms
• Comfort working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Familiarity with modern infrastructure, distributed systems, and containerization
• Solid background in testing strategies and performance optimization
• Self-motivated and proactive with strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Detail-oriented with analytical thinking
• Team-oriented collaborative approach
