Managing Director (AiLO)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential education consulting organization in their search for a Managing Director to lead large-scale AI implementation initiatives in K–12 education systems. This role is ideal for a strategic leader who excels at translating emerging technology into practical, scalable solutions for state education agencies and school districts nationwide.

This position requires someone who can think strategically while remaining deeply hands-on—originating ideas, drafting high-stakes deliverables, and driving work from concept through execution. You'll be close to the work, building solutions from the ground up rather than simply overseeing others.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of client and internal projects focused on AI integration in education systems, ensuring excellence and measurable outcomes
• Personally draft and own high-stakes client deliverables including strategic frameworks, executive memos, implementation plans, and presentations
• Partner with senior leadership to develop strategic roadmaps for AI application across multiple service areas
• Oversee the creation of AI-informed content, frameworks, and resources that help education leaders understand and responsibly implement artificial intelligence
• Direct complex client engagements from planning through execution, managing timelines, budgets, and quality standards
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior education leaders navigating digital transformation and AI implementation
• Lead and mentor team members, fostering a culture of curiosity, innovation, and accountability
• Contribute to thought leadership through publications, case studies, and external forums on AI in education
• Support business development by cultivating strategic partnerships and identifying new opportunities
• Champion responsible experimentation with AI tools to enhance analysis, content development, and project delivery

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in Business Administration, Education, or related field preferred
• 10–15+ years of experience in project management, digital transformation, operations, or consulting, including senior leadership roles
• Demonstrated experience integrating or implementing AI tools, automation systems, or digital platforms in organizational or client-facing contexts
• Proven success leading cross-functional teams through technology-enabled change
• Experience in education, nonprofit, or public-sector organizations strongly preferred
• Expertise in project management and AI-driven innovation with ability to connect vision to practical implementation
• Exceptional writing and communication skills; ability to synthesize complex ideas into clear, compelling content
• Strategic and analytical thinker who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments
• Comfortable moving between creative exploration and structured execution
• Strong relationship-builder with commitment to high standards and measurable outcomes
• Low-ego, high-accountability leadership style

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $145,000 – $160,000 per year. A comprehensive benefits package is also included.
