About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential technology consultancy client that specializes in modernizing operations for logistics and transportation organizations. Our talent team is seeking a Lead Full Stack Python/FastAPI/React Engineer to lead the rebuild of a transportation management system for one of their key accounts.
This is a leadership role where you'll guide a full-stack development pod, translate complex business requirements into technical solutions, and deliver meaningful transformation for an established industry player. You'll work remotely within the United States while leading a team through high-impact development work.
Responsibilities
- Lead and energize a full-stack Python/React development team through the complete rebuild of a transportation management system
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and delegate tasks effectively across your team
- Perform code reviews and set technical standards while maintaining high-quality, modular, testable code
- Guide technical architecture decisions across the entire stack from database to UI
- Unblock and motivate team members, providing constructive feedback and fostering continuous learning
- Prioritize work to ensure the team focuses on the highest-impact problems
- Collaborate cross-functionally with managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver human-centered solutions
- Support additional projects as needed, potentially including other logistics technology, productivity tools, or AI/ML initiatives
What We're Looking For
Required Experience:
- Approximately 8+ years building and shipping production software systems
- Proven technical leadership experience with a track record of guiding development teams
- Strong Python/FastAPI expertise on the backend (this is the primary technology stack for this role)
- React.js proficiency for frontend development
- Previous experience in the logistics industry and genuine interest in transportation technology
- Experience building or working with transportation management systems specifically
- Deep understanding of the full engineering stack: databases, servers, APIs, and user interfaces
- Track record creating self-documenting, performant code with future maintainability in mind
- Experience working cross-functionally in fast-paced, high-iteration environments
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with React Native, GraphQL, DevOps, or CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of ML/LLMs and their practical applications
- Familiarity with additional backend technologies like Node.js/TypeScript, C#/.NET, or Java/Spring
- Experience with MySQL, MongoDB, Docker, or REST APIs
