Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential health technology organization seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Node) to lead technical direction and architecture for their full-stack platform. In this role, you will:
- Lead architecture decisions for frontend, mobile, and backend systems — including component design, rendering strategy, state management, API structure, and database modeling
- Own design and implementation of complex features using React, TypeScript, Next.js, and React Native, setting the standard for production-quality code
- Design and implement Next.js API routes and Node.js backend services, including authentication, authorization, caching, and database access
- Provide technical leadership through code reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and establishing Node coding standards
- Own performance optimization, testing strategy, and CI/CD pipeline governance while ensuring regulatory compliance and high availability
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years of professional software development experience with primary frontend expertise
- Deep proficiency with React, TypeScript, and Next.js in production applications
- Senior-level React Native/Expo mobile experience
- Strong Node.js backend capability, including relational and document database design
- Must reside in Eastern or Central time zones (US-based, remote position)
- Available for weekday business hours 9-5 CST
- Willing to travel to Dallas, Texas for in-person finalist interview
- Dedicated home workspace with high-speed internet and ability to secure confidential information
Preferred:
- 10+ years of professional experience across frontend and full-stack development
- Experience in healthcare technology or other regulated industries
- Familiarity with healthcare data standards (HL7 FHIR, X12, NCPDP)
- Experience with GraphQL Federation/tRPC, monorepo tooling, and schema design
