Geospatial Data Analyst (f/m/x) in the field of AI & Satellite Data

About This Role

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential geospatial analytics organization in their search for a Geospatial Data Analyst. This is a fixed-term, 1-year maternity cover position based in Berlin with hybrid working arrangements.

You'll work at the intersection of satellite imagery, AI-powered analytics, and critical infrastructure monitoring. Your role centers on ensuring that analytics projects are delivered with accuracy and reliability, working closely with project managers, engineers, and product teams to validate data, troubleshoot pipelines, and continuously improve delivery quality.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, validate, and interpret geospatial and satellite imagery data across global customer projects
• Take ownership of analytics deliveries, ensuring high technical quality and reliability from data ingestion through final output
• Investigate data and pipeline issues, identify root causes, and communicate findings clearly to engineering teams
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineers, project managers, and operations support to resolve issues and maintain delivery schedules
• Develop end-to-end understanding of analytics pipelines and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and quality
• Provide structured feedback to product and engineering teams when you identify recurring issues or improvement opportunities
• Use AI coding and analysis tools such as Claude or Cursor for data validation and pipeline debugging, while critically validating output before implementation
• Work with tools including QGIS, Python, SQL, AWS, remote sensing platforms, and large-scale geospatial datasets

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Degree in geoinformatics, remote sensing, geography, computer science, data science, statistics, mathematics, or another quantitative/technical field
• Hands-on experience working with geospatial data and GIS tools, ideally QGIS
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to investigate complex data or technical issues in a structured way
• High level of ownership and self-management—you proactively ask questions, seek clarity, and move problems toward resolution
• Comfortable using AI coding and analysis tools as part of daily work while applying critical judgment to verify results
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment where priorities and customer requirements can change
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Collaborative working style with ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Currently living in Berlin or willing to relocate

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Python and SQL
• Remote sensing or Earth observation experience
• Experience with geodatabases and large-scale data management
• AWS or other cloud infrastructure experience
• Machine learning or deep learning knowledge
• Software engineering experience
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Prefect
