Product Designer

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential defense technology client seeking a Product Designer to support their business development efforts. In this role, you will translate emerging customer conversations into tangible prototypes that can be demonstrated to prospective clients within days. You will work at the intersection of commercial opportunity and product vision, creating convincing demonstrations of future capabilities before they exist in the core product.

Your day-to-day work includes:

• Converting incomplete or evolving customer requirements into polished prototypes on accelerated timelines
• Selecting the most effective demonstration medium for each opportunity—whether a Figma prototype, coded mock-up, interactive concept, or demo video
• Ensuring every prototype maintains professional design standards suitable for presentation to senior defense and government decision-makers
• Collaborating with business development, product teams, and forward-deployed personnel to define what each demonstration must accomplish
• Making rapid design decisions that balance specific deal requirements with broader product consistency
• Documenting insights from each prototype to inform future product roadmap decisions

What We're Looking For

Our client prioritizes design craft, execution speed, sound judgment, collaborative mindset, and comfort operating with ambiguity. The ideal candidate makes confident decisions with incomplete information and iterates quickly as new requirements emerge.

Must-have qualifications:

• Portfolio demonstrating high-quality interaction and visual design for complex digital products
• Proven ability to transform ambiguous problems into prototypes that facilitate stakeholder decision-making
• Expertise with modern product design and prototyping tools
• Ability to deliver fast without compromising quality, knowing when to reuse patterns versus create new solutions
• Clear communication skills across technical, commercial, and non-technical audiences
• Ability to perform under pressure when important demonstrations require quick turnaround
• EU or UK citizenship (required for defense contract compliance)

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience building prototypes in code, including using AI-assisted development tools
• Background designing B2B, enterprise, or technically complex software
• Familiarity with mapping, geospatial interfaces, or data-intensive operational systems
• Motion design or demonstration video production capabilities
• Previous work in defense, government, or dual-use technology sectors

The interview process includes a 30-minute screening call, a 60-minute portfolio walkthrough, and a half-day onsite session in Paris where you will see the product, meet the team, and complete a time-bound design exercise.

Pay
