Associate Director of Product Development

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential market research and analytics firm serving institutional investors and enterprise clients. Our talent team is seeking an Associate Director of Product Development to drive the discovery, development, and improvement of alternative data products that power high-stakes investment and strategic decisions.

This is a remote role based in the USA with East Coast work hours expected. This position does not offer visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Drive revenue growth by building new alternative data products spanning entire sectors or financial verticals
• Explore and evaluate new datasets for potential commercialization and product development
• Collaborate with partnerships teams to direct the sourcing of new datasets and build relationships with prospective data partners
• Conduct client interviews and work with revenue teams to understand user workflows, problems, and needs
• Define and execute product strategy that creates value on top of proprietary data and research
• Communicate progress, roadmaps, and product decisions to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
• Potential to manage or build out a team of Product Development Analysts

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of alternative data experience, including evaluating, sourcing, and working with multiple datasets
• Proven track record of successfully developing new alternative data research or feed products with measurable business impact
• Client-facing or buy-side exposure with a strong understanding of financial client needs and workflows
• Customer-centric product thinking with the ability to use data and feedback to guide high-impact decisions
• History of product innovation—identifying opportunities early, prioritizing effectively, and executing quickly and iteratively
• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams
• Understanding of the underlying technology of data collection, storage, delivery, and consumption
• Clear communicator who operates with transparency and stays aligned with company objectives

Pay

The client anticipates a base salary range of $185,000 to $200,000 annually, with an annual target performance bonus of 10% and equity participation. Compensation is determined by experience, skills, and internal benchmarks. Remote work may be subject to New York State tax withholding depending on location.
