Associate Commercial Counsel

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential market research and analytics firm seeking an Associate Commercial Counsel to join their legal team. This is a remote-friendly opportunity based in the USA, with the option to work from New York City or anywhere in the United States.

Our client is a high-growth organization in the financial technology and data analytics space. Their legal team plays a strategic role in supporting rapid business expansion, working closely with commercial teams to negotiate and close deals that drive the company forward.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, and execute commercial contracts to close deals, guiding business teams from initial contract discussions and NDA negotiations through final execution
• Navigate novel contracting frameworks and address new legal challenges in a fast-paced, evolving business environment
• Build and enhance contract management processes, platforms, and templates to improve efficiency and scalability
• Collaborate cross-functionally to facilitate contract reviews and streamline internal legal workflows
• Provide practical legal counsel to meet business unit objectives while managing risk appropriately

What We're Looking For

• JD or equivalent law degree from a top-tier law school
• Active bar membership in New York and in good standing
• 3-5 years of relevant legal experience at a law firm or in-house legal department, with strong emphasis on drafting and negotiating business contracts
• Demonstrated passion for commercial contract work, including drafting, negotiating, and redlining agreements
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to spot issues in complex commercial terms
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to work effectively across departments
• Comfort operating independently in ambiguous situations and creating solutions to new challenges
• Preferred: Background in market research, data products, or technology companies
