About This Opportunity
We are representing a growing IT services organization based in Bochum that delivers comprehensive infrastructure solutions to business clients. Our talent team is seeking an IT System Engineer to join their technical consulting division and take ownership of critical Windows Server environments.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced systems professional who thrives on proactive infrastructure management, customer-facing technical consulting, and modern migration projects. You'll work directly with client environments, ensuring reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of their server infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Maintain operational responsibility for Windows Server infrastructure across multiple client environments, including deployed products and features
- Process and resolve incidents and service requests efficiently
- Proactively monitor Windows Server systems in customer environments
- Independently adjust system configurations and create/update technical documentation
- Lead Windows Server installation projects from start to finish
- Migrate legacy installations to current standards, managing all dependencies
- Provide technical consulting to clients regarding their operational scenarios
What We're Looking For
- Completed technical degree or comparable vocational training (e.g., IT Systems Integration Specialist/Fachinformatiker Systemintegration)
- Several years of professional experience in Windows Server administration and management
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2008 through 2019, including migration paths for individual services
- Current expertise with Windows Server through 2024
- Service-oriented and reliable working style
- Confident professional presence with strong German and English communication skills (written and spoken)
- Practical experience with firewalling and Windows PowerShell is advantageous
- Certifications such as MCSA/MCSE and experience in incident/problem management are desirable
- Valid driver's license (Class B) preferred
