ProFee Audit Specialist- PRN

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential healthcare technology organization in their search for a ProFee Audit Specialist on a PRN (as-needed) basis. This fully remote role offers flexible scheduling, allowing you to contribute your expertise in professional fee coding audits while maintaining control over your workload.

Our client provides critical solutions across the healthcare ecosystem, and this position plays a vital role in ensuring coding quality, compliance, and accuracy for their provider partners.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional fee coding audits of medical records using ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers with appropriate coding references
• Provide detailed rationale for identified coding changes, including specific documentation references and location details
• Stay current with regulatory changes and coding guideline updates
• Manage multiple concurrent cases while ensuring efficient workflow and timely case resolution
• Deliver coder education through the auditing process
• Maintain adherence to AHIMA's code of ethics and professional standards
• Demonstrate customer-service focus with professionalism, flexibility, and commitment to excellence

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional fee coding and/or auditing experience
• CPC certification (required)
• CPMA certification (preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to maintain 95% or higher accuracy rate
• Experience working with various EMR systems including Epic, Cerner, and other prevalent platforms
• Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
• High-level decision-making capabilities in complex coding scenarios
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
