Japanese Language Specialist – Fully Remote | Upto $52/hr Part-time

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential AI research organization seeking a Japanese Language Specialist for remote contract work. This is a part-time, fully remote role supporting AI safety initiatives through expert-level language evaluation and content classification.

Location: Japan (or wider East Asia region preferred)
Type: Part-time contract
Schedule: Asynchronous, work independently

Responsibilities

• Write and evaluate expert-level prompts in Japanese across a range of sensitive subject areas
• Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations with precision
• Identify and flag adversarial phrasings and escalation patterns in AI interactions
• Document clear reasoning behind your judgments and classifications
• Work independently to evaluate and strengthen AI model performance on sensitive topics

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Native or near-native fluency in Japanese
• Business-level written English proficiency
• Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress)
• Strong written reasoning skills and exceptional attention to detail
• Sound judgment when handling sensitive and dual-use information

Preferred:

• Based in Japan or the wider East Asia region
• Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming written or technical content
• Background in trust and safety, content moderation, policy evaluation, or adversarial testing
