Senior Performance Marketing Manager (m|w|d) – CSS

About This Opportunity

We are representing a leading European e-commerce comparison platform in their search for a Senior Performance Marketing Manager specializing in CSS and Google Shopping. This role sits within a data-driven performance marketing organization that operates at significant scale across multiple markets.

Our client is seeking someone who can take technical ownership of shopping campaigns, drive automation initiatives, and leverage data to maximize efficiency across paid search channels. You'll work alongside a highly motivated team that stays ahead of industry trends and operates with end-to-end accountability.

This position is available full-time or part-time and is based in Berlin.

Responsibilities

• Take hands-on technical ownership of Google Shopping and CSS campaign strategy, including setup, structure, scaling, and performance optimization
• Manage budgets and KPIs, identifying growth opportunities and implementing concrete measures to improve campaign efficiency
• Conduct continuous performance monitoring and execute operational optimizations through structured testing, iterations, and rollouts
• Drive Google Merchant Center initiatives related to feed quality, including data quality improvements, attribute management, rules configuration, and policy compliance
• Develop and implement optimization frameworks with robust tracking, ongoing analysis, and actionable reporting
• Design and execute hypothesis-driven experiments, analyze results, and establish learnings as team best practices
• Serve as the technical expert for Shopping and CSS channels, advising internal stakeholders and implementing platform trends
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on feed management and technical requirements

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Several years of performance marketing experience with deep focus on Google Shopping, including end-to-end campaign ownership and hands-on implementation
• Extensive CSS expertise and thorough understanding of shopping ecosystem mechanics and optimization levers
• Strong proficiency with Google Merchant Center, including all aspects of feed management (data quality, attributes, rules, diagnostics, policies)
• Advanced analytical capabilities: clear KPI logic, structured testing methodologies, and strong prioritization skills
• High technical aptitude with experience using analysis, tracking, and feed management tools
• Ownership mentality with ability to drive initiatives forward independently and pragmatically
• Fluent German and English (written and spoken)

Nice to Have:

• Agency experience in performance marketing
• Experience with PMAX and shopping automation strategies
• Background in incrementality testing and experimentation
• SQL and BigQuery proficiency
• Dashboard creation experience (Looker, Power BI, Tableau)
